Description
Learn the art of needle felting during this creative and kinesthetic workshop! Needle felting is a tactile craft that transforms wool fibers into three dimensional works of art. Students will be guided step by step through the basics of shaping, blending, and decorating their artwork. By the end of this 2 day workshop students will leave with their own unique creation and a relaxing new hobby! All supplies are included for this workshop (+ $20 due at booking).

Description
Chinese Lantern plants symbolize resilience and rebirth, and are known in Asia as “spirit lanterns.” During this workshop, students will begin to draw botanical forms and then layer down various neutral tones before adding on vibrant colored pencils. By the end of class participants will have created their own rendition of these Chinese Lanterns!

Description
Join experienced local ceramist Mariah Johnson for a 1 day hands-on workshop during which students will create their own udu drum! An udu drum is a Nigerian skinless clay pot drum originating from the Igbo people traditionally used for ceremonial music and popular for the deep, earthy tones it creates. Students will make a sphere-shaped drum with a side hole, neck, and add decorative elements after being introduced to the studio. Students will also become familiar with the varying levels of the plasticity of clay and experience the different feels of clay during drying process. Students will learn about the stages of drying and associated clay stability and learn how to apply this knowledge to create their own unique vessels with embellishments such as carving and stamping. Various tools and treatments will be explored during this workshop. It is beginner-friendly and also welcomes returning ceramic students to further develop their skills with surface treatments. As an artist, Mariah concentrates on creating lively and functional pieces via hands-on observation, technical exploration, and personal expression.
Clay, studio glazes, and kiln firings are included. Students will need basic pottery tools and may bring their own or purchase a Potter’s Tool Kit at the studio for $15. Please wear secure footwear-- no open-toed shoes!

As the holiday season unfolds, take time to create a lovely holiday ornament with colored pencils . We will begin with mono-toning with graphite pencils and then layer on top with colored pencils. At the end of class students will have a beautiful holiday piece!

Camp Description
A 1 day All Day or Half Day Camp for your blooming artists! Students will have the opportunity to experience it all-- drawing, painting, clay, and more! They will be led by professional artists to develop their skills--while having much fun! All supplies are included for this workshop. Students must bring a packed lunch, water, and a snack for our breaks. Students should bring a smock or wear clothes they can get messy!​
