Description
Let your homeschoolers explore the wonderful worlds of drawing, painting, pottery, and more during our Homeschool Art School course. Description
Come and learn the basics for this meditative art form during this 1 day workshop! Nature is the heart of Chinese brush painting. It is intended to be a meditative and spontaneous art form, capturing the essence of an image or idea with very little attention to precise details. Using the “Four Treasures,” the brush, ink stick, ink stone and the paper, you will learn the techniques to create the “Four Gentleman,” the bamboo, orchid, plum and chrysanthemum. Each “Gentleman” introduces a new stroke or idea and reinforces techniques already learned. Continual demonstrations will be provided throughout the workshop along with individual attention. This workshop will concentrate on learning the brush strokes to create the bamboo. All supplies will be provided (+ $10 due at booking). Returning students will review bamboo basics, learn how to load your brush for values, and learn how to work on rice paper. Returning students will then begin learning the strokes of the orchid. Returning students will need to purchase additional supplies from the instructor during the workshop; please email us for a supply pricing list after booking!
Linda Schultz has an MS in Art Education and a Certificate of Completion from the prestigious Art Form Gallery for Studies in Chinese Brush Painting. She has studied with various experts and master painters for more than two decades, including in the city of Jan Ying, China. Linda's work is in many private collections and galleries.

Description
Join artist Deb Carpenter and learn a new palette knife technique during this 1 day workshop! This technique involves use of both heavy and fluid acrylic paints. Students will use only 2-3 heavy body acrylics (mostly white). As you paint, you will add vibrancy to the heavy body white acrylic paint through blending with fluid acrylic colors. The blending is done right on the canvas, and it goes quickly. Don’t worry about it being perfect... that’s part of the beauty of palette knife painting! Mistakes can be happy mistakes! Once the background is complete, we'll let it dry a bit and then add the composition and details. The texture and mood you’ll get will be amazing! All supplies are included: canvas, palette knives, and paint. Some aprons will be available, but if you have your own
please bring it!

CHINESE BRUSH PAINTING WORKSHOP

Description
Come and learn the basics for this meditative art form during this 1 day workshop! Nature is the heart of Chinese brush painting. It is intended to be a meditative and spontaneous art form, capturing the essence of an image or idea with very little attention to precise details. Using the “Four Treasures,” the brush, ink stick, ink stone and the paper, you will learn the techniques to create the “Four Gentleman,” the bamboo, orchid, plum and chrysanthemum. Each “Gentleman” introduces a new stroke or idea and reinforces techniques already learned. Continual demonstrations will be provided throughout the workshop along with individual attention. This workshop will concentrate on learning the brush strokes to create the bamboo. All supplies will be provided (+ $10 due at booking). Returning students will review bamboo basics, learn how to load your brush for values, and learn how to work on rice paper. Returning students will then begin learning the strokes of the orchid. Returning students will need to purchase additional supplies from the instructor during the workshop; please email us for a supply pricing list after booking!
Linda Schultz has an MS in Art Education and a Certificate of Completion from the prestigious Art Form Gallery for Studies in Chinese Brush Painting. She has studied with various experts and master painters for more than two decades, including in the city of Jan Ying, China. Linda's work is in many private collections and galleries.

Pour painting is just what it sounds like-- a fluid, expressive art form that yields wonderful abstract results. 3D pour painting involves pour painting over a 3 dimensional object-- and in this workshop, that object is a pretty-shaped vase!
