I am drawn to the medium of clay because of its flexibility and versatility. Being of lover of nature I revel that I can create something beautiful that is mined from our earth and after firing in a kiln can last hundreds of years. Because of my studies in drawing and painting, I think of my clay vessels as three dimensional canvases upon which I can create my design ideas. I intermingle classic pottery forms with the shapes, colors and textures found in natural surroundings. My journey in the making of each of my pieces is often from a personal experience. When I work, it is very meditative and gives me great joy. It is my hope that my passion for preserving our environment translates to the viewer.
